Taipei’s Xi Men Ding (西門町) February 19, 2008
Posted by Cai in F.Y.I, Food, Interesting, Life, Pictures, Thoughts, Travel.2 comments
I can find a million excuse to explain my disappearing act over the past few days.
- Suffered a terrible hang over after Valentine’s Day (Friday).
- Accompanied my Papa to Indonesia for his business trip, which all i did was shook hands and offer my big smile (Saturday and Sunday).
- Had a meeting with my insurance agent in the early afternoon, before heading to Queensway to print my report. Returned back home with severe headaches and serious indigestion problems which caused me to be bed ridden till this morning (Monday).
- Accompanied David to the gym, before heading to Ngee Ann to submit my report and caught Jumper over at Tiong Bahru Plaza (Tuesday, which is today).
Anyhow, that’s just a short update on what’s going on with my life and it’s definitely not my sole reason of wordpressig today. Instead the topic of the day shall be the last bit of my Taipei trip, on Xi Men Ding (西門町).
Ximending is now called the “Harajuku” of Taipei. The local bookstores sell Japanese magazines, books, CD albums, and clothing, making it a heaven for the “Harizu”, or Japanese culture adorers. Individual vendors gather in the streets as well as the large business buildings, such as Wannien Department Store and Shizilin Square in the early days, and Wanguo Department Store and Eslite 116 in the later period.
Due to the density of young people, Ximending is comparable to Shilin Market and the Eastern District to be areas with the highest crime rates. In addition, Ximending is well-known for Enjo kosai (Japanese for student prostitution).

I traveled there during the early morning therefore most of the stores are still not opened yet, and the crowd has not appeared.

I guess the main attractions should be the streets filled with stores along the way, which caters more towards the female community, sadly. From shoes, latest fashion trend at awfully cheap prices, to Japanese magazine stalls, you name it.
They do have fashion for the males, however it was more towards the hip hop type of trend, you know, 五毛钱 (50 cents). Which apparently seems like a fashion disaster for me, but i’m sure it’s the way to go for many others, yep.

Anyhow, me and sister stumbled in a female apparel store called Young, where she bought a trench coat in preparation for Sydney’s winter when she head back.

If i do have a girlfriend, and i know her size then i will be able to shop for her. Judging from the store’s catalog, the collection’s fantastic.

The street center is filled with this kind of push cart stores, where they sold snacks. Despite the wet weather, the thought of making money during the Chinese New Year period never slip their mind.

After many hours of walking, accompanied by the wet weather, we decided to take a pit stop over at one of the Japanese restaurant. It’s not the typical type of conveyor belt you see, it’s actually a train with carragies carrying the different varieties of delicious looking food, flirting with you everytime they go steaming past.

My sister had some Udon Soup.

While i had Barbecued Pork Bento Set.

Our Unagi Sushi.

Absolutely not going to forget the Ebi Sushi.
Having the chance to try out the authentic Japanese food definitely made my day.
Thank goodness my sister knew how to speak in Japanese because the restaurants caters more to the Japanese customers. After coming back from Adelaide, i realized my Chinese became really atrocious. Speaking wise ain’t that bad, just that i might stammer alittle. However, when it comes to comprehending, sometimes i have to make them repeat their sentence unwillingly for more than three whole times, disappointingly.

Taipei Shi Lin (士林) February 13, 2008
Posted by Cai in F.Y.I, Food, Interesting, Life, Pictures, Travel.3 comments
The Shilin Night Market is a night market in the Shilin District of Taipei City, Taiwan. It is the largest and most famous night market in the city. To get there by the MRT, you must take the Danshui Line to the Jiantan Station, not the Shilin Station. Like most night markets in Taiwan, the local businesses and vendors begin opening around 4 p.m. as students begin returning home from school, crowds reach their peak between 8 and 11 p.m. Businesses continue operating well past midnight and close around 1 to 2 a.m.
Via Wikipedia

Well well, the all so famous Shi Lin (士林). When people talk about Shi Lin, the strings of thoughts will definitely travel and revolve about the picture of good food. Then let’s allow the pictures do the talking alright.

Singapore do have the franchise Shi Lin Snacks scattered around the malls, and their signature snack is none other than the XXXL Crispy Chicken. Coming to Shi Lin and not trying their crispy chicken where it originated from will be like ordering chicken rice without chicken. Basically, it doesn’t make sense not trying.

In fact, their westernized crispy chicken contains a piece of ham inside and is filled with mustard, simply wicked.

Another famous snack will be their oyster fried egg, how could i have missed it. Anyhow, i actually don’t eat oysters because it has a strong stench taste, however not trying will be a regret. It’s all in the mind, just swallow.

I tried their Teppanyaki too, and i must comment that the portion wise ain’t that ideal. I ordered a set meal to share with my sister and that’s what i received.

Shi Lin is actually not all about food, and usually food comes hand in hand with shopping. Despite the wet weather, the crowd never ceases. If you’re looking for cheap clothes, this will defintely be the place to attend. Absolutely without a doubt, their main target are the females.

Along the way, there were many stores like the one above and it reminded me of my secondary school’s funfair days. Basically, they are game store that offer basic games, and of course you get to win prizes depending on the points you collected. Anyhow, i bet as a Taipei kid, not trying this will result in a no childhood.
If you ever visit Taipei, Shi Lin is one spot you cannot miss. Sometimes i wish Singapore’s Pasar Malam (Night Market) can reach some proper standards.

Dear all, deepest apologies for not making time to update this pathetic blog of mine. I mean, give me a break man, i finally came back to Singapore for good and there’s definitely loads to do right? Such as chilling out with friends, unpacking, settling army registration, going to the dental, going visiting and especially with regards to loosing weight too.
The first thing everyone exclaim when they met me wasn’t like the “i miss you” that i expected, instead it was, “eh, you’ve gained weight”. Like hello, just my face alright? I mean, it’s inevitable to have gained weight, afterall it’s just a mere two kilogram aight. Anyhow, from this week onwards, as things starts to fall back into place, i shall get back to wordpressing, therefore please lookout for a series of my Taipei trip.

Welcome to Taipei 101, apparently it’s holds the tallest building in the world record. The first few floors, relatively near the ground level are filled with luxuries goods, any international brand, such as Dior, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, you name it.
I refrained myself from entering such stores for a simple reason, why tempt youselves? If you do not get to see it, there won’t be a chance you might fall in love with it, and the probability of you spending your parents money drops to nearly zero.
Thou shall only splurge on such pretty goods when the money is earned by thee.

Anyhow, the sole purpose of going to Taipei 101 is definitely not for shopping but for the top level observatory. If my memory didn’t fail me, one adult ticket cost around $400 N.T.D/$20 SGD.
Just to sidetrack, the elevator takes only thirty seven seconds to reach the 88 floors. It instantly shows the sign of pressure change with your ears filling tight.

The observatory is split into different section by running numbers. Each section gives a good view and contains interesting facts on the walls around it. Along the way, there were some arty farty Chinese exhibition for you to appreciate.

Here are some of the spectacular views. One thing i regret was not coming here during the night fall time, the pretty lighted city might give a better impression. However, the night’s going to produce a worst view due to the bad weather in Taipei (fog).

We got sick of the indoor environment, and my family decided to conquer the highest point of the observatory, apparently it’s a whooping 386 meters. For your information, Taipei is going through the coldest/wettest Chinese New Year since years, and the wind speed can be really horrible.

I thought that their information guide/brochure was well designed. Doesn’t it reminds you of Mika’s album cover?

Once again, i couldn’t help to take a photo with the miniature poster of Taipei 101, since it wasn’t possible to take one in reality.

One thing that made me upset was that the binoculars can only be operated when coins are inserted. It’s not that i am stingy or every cents counts for me, it’s just that not everyone have loose change hello you.

That’s my family, with me being the photographer (:

My sister was just requesting me to give a few poses for her and who knows, my ma ma actually joined in.

That’s my ma ma, and she can be a real big kid at times.
It’s time for me to hit the shower before i start to stink up the house, all thanks to the humidity of Singapore. By the way, come back some other time as i am going to do a entry on Taipei’s night market, Shi Lin.

Taipei Day 1 – Arrival February 5, 2008
Posted by Cai in F.Y.I, Food, Interesting, Pictures, Travel.2 comments
Hello you. Deepest apologies for not updating my blog during the thirty nine hours i have in Singapore before i left for Taipei. Basically, i was busy unpacking, packing and meeting up with the lonely hearts club over at Holland.
Anyhow, here i am in my hotel room (Cosmos Hotel) in Taipei city area and i shall do a short update on my arrival here.

Welcome to Changi Airport Terminal 3, what you see above is after the custom area. I cannot deny that fact that i am impressed.

I always get pushed to the window seat, partly because i don’t mind. Anyhow, the smooth creamy layer of clouds looks amazing. Feels like i can walk on it.

Finally, we reach Taipei!

That’s me and my mommy!

By the time we reached the city from the airport, it was already dark thanks to the bad traffic. Oh it’s raining today, and it will be raining for the following days too ):

The first shopping center that i entered.

Here’s my dinner. Deep fried pork chop with tomato japanese curry, yummy.

Yes, i couldn’t help but to ring the 爱情 (love) bell.

After a few hours of browsing around, i managed to get two items that interest me.
- Levi’s Jeans $3081 NT /$152 SGD
- Porter Sling Bag $3350 NT /$160 SGD
That’s all for the short update. It’s time for me to turn in, apparently i am typing this with my eyes half closed. Good night my friends, have fun preparing for new year (:

A Taste Of Hahndorf January 17, 2008
Posted by Cai in F.Y.I, Food, Interesting, Life, Pictures, Thoughts, Travel.10 comments
Passed by Hahndorf the other time when i went to the Beerenberg strawberry farm during early October. Since then, it has always been a desire to travel there again to check out the German town that was established in the 1838 i think. However, due to transportation problem, traveling there can be quite a major problem. Well well, since Kenneth agreed to be the designated driver (DD) again, it’s indeed an offer too hard to reject.

That’s the group of pretty man walking down the street, with Kit being the camera man of course.

According to the local critiques, the preferred place to dine at will definitely be the Hahndorf Family Hotel. /Followthecrowd.

We couldn’t resist trying out the originial Hofbräuhaus beer (HB), the smooth tasty heritage of Germany can actually be tasted through it. Thinking back, i realised Becks didn’t cut it afterall.

Look at what we gluttons actually ordered!
- 1 x A Taste Of Germany (Far left) $25 AUD/$32.50 SGD.
- 1 x Bowl Of Fries With Gravy (Center) $9.90 AUD/$12.87 SGD.
- 1 x I Cannot Remember The Name Platter (Center) $25 AUD/$32.50 SGD.
- 1 x Pumpkim Soup In Bread Bowl (Far Right) $12 AUD/$15.60 SGD.
- 2 x Hofbräuhaus beer (Not In Picture) $9.90 AUD/$12.87 SGD.

F.Y.I. Coming to Hahndorf and not trying their A Taste Of Germany makes you go home empty handed. It’s actually a dish full of meat, ranging from different type of sausages (e.g. bockwurst), pork knuckles, pork chop, deep fried bacons, potato salad and et certa.
The sight of meat turns my stomach upside down after the whole meal, and we were discussing about going for a detoxification session together. I mean, hello, it’s really a meat galore feast, and it’s able to turn you into a perfect vegetarian for the following days. Anyhow, although my taste bud had an overdosage of amino acid from excessive meat eating, but one thing is for sure, every little piece of meat tasted fantastic, a die die must try experience.
According to my roommate who’s constantly doing the counting down, i’m left with twelve more working days, and seventeen more nights in South Australia, Adelaide.
Thoughts about an issue living in my subconscious state hit me a few moments ago, again. Here’s the question, you went through a whole great ordeal (rain, searching, queues, effort, misc) to buy a gift he/she apparently liked for he/she. He/she then told you it’s all so great and wonderful, expressing a total gratitude. Ta da, and few days later, her friend actually told you he/she was disgusted by the gift, “oh, it’s damn creepy la”, yes tell me how would you actually feel? Honestly, it feels like a heart shot right through into a bolt of blue, and anyway kudos to that.

Melbourne Trip – Boxing Day Sale and Departure January 1, 2008
Posted by Cai in F.Y.I, Interesting, Life, Pictures, Thoughts, Travel.1 comment so far
Happy New Year, Happy 2008 everyone. This shall be my last entry on my Melbourne trip, and the following entry will definitely be something regarding the New Year. Have a blessed day ahead, and remember to start it off right (:

Boxing day oh Boxing day. Finally all the shops were opened for business, and all with a huge sale sign displayed. In Singapore, the Great Singapore Sale during the June period might be the best time of the year to shop. However in Australia, it will be the Boxing Day and year end/stock take sales that is awfully wicked.

Being the usually typical Kiasu (scared loose) Singaporeans, we started shopping on Boxing day at around half past eight in the morning. However, upon arrival the city central, we realised lines of human bodies already started queuing up around bloody six in the morning.
The amount of sale items we bought within one hour is pretty worthwhile i personally felt, although i wasn’t the biggest winner.

Right smack in the city central area, there’s an alley full of amazing graffiti done by the locals. Well, i’m proud to say Singapore do have loads of graffiti too, all the owe money pay money, random paint splash in bloody red done by the loan sharks, well done right?
After like eight hour of shopping, i sat down in a mall and refused to move an inch. My shopping partners were horrible i tell you. Countless occasion when i have to follow them back to the same stall to check the item out again, the record was like for three times. Why can’t they just buy and move on, apply the buy first talk later teachings by me?
Anyhow i came up with a policy for them along the way, which is no such thing as turning back. Once stepping out of the store, thou shall not enter again. My legs were definitely saved from further damage.

I felt really disappointed with myself because i only managed to buy three tops, while the rest did like eight to ten damages. Please don’t blame me, because if you do take into account of the conversion rate, there isn’t much differences for the items i long for.
Things that i purchased,
- Ben Sherman Target Tee – $33 AUD/$42.90 SGD, originally $50 AUD
- Ben Sherman Short Sleeves Button Down – $52 AUD/$67.60 SGD, originally $85 AUD
- Ralph Lauren Short Sleeves Button Down – $89 AUD/$115.70 SGD, originally $145 AUD
The day ended off with a feast back in the apartment while watching Transformer. Baby come back, there was something in everything about youuu.
Lights off was pretty early because we had to wake up the following day at around five in the morning to catch the train back to Adelaide.

Moving on, and fast forwarding, that’s me beside The Overland Train. It’s a train service that travels between Adelaide and Melbourne, $59 AUD for concession Red Service. It will be the first time i set foot into a real train, not a tram, therefore i was pretty excited about it.

The interior of the train reminds me of a air plane. The seats were comfortable, toilets were clean, just that it was a little too cold. Anyhow the program for most of us during the train ride was to catch up on sleep since we were all suffering from serious fatigue after the frantic rushing around.
For your information, the train left Melbourne at eight in the morning and reached Adelaide only at six in the evening, if you do the mathematics, it will be ten freaking hours, /ass-numb.

At least there was a feast to the eyes during the whole journey, when we past by the rural areas, with all the farms, sheeps, cows, horses and e certa. What you see above is the Murray Bridge/River!
Right after arrival, instead of returning back to our individual home. We headed to Norwood to have dinner at Cafe Primo and catch the Golden Compass. Though the show was rather exciting, rather i must say, there were moments i almost dozed off.
That shall mark the end of my Melbourne trip and it’s back to work at Adelaide. In conclusion, i really had great clean fun over at Melbourne with the amazing company. Melbourne city really reminds me of Singapore though, so if you are avoiding such a hectic place, do keep your distant. Cheers!
Melbourne Trip – Great Ocean Road on Christmas December 31, 2007
Posted by Cai in F.Y.I, Interesting, Life, Pictures, Rants, Thoughts, Travel.1 comment so far

The journey from Melbourne city area to the Twelve Apostles via the Great Ocean Road is about 400 kilometers if i got my facts right. Somebody tell me how many times it will be from Singapore’s Boon Lay to Pasir Ris, seems like around 10 trips to me isn’t it?

Although Kenneth was supposed to be the designated driver (DD) again, but it will be still very taxing for him to drive 800 kilometers straight (to and froth) even for an ex commando trained. Therefore, the journey there was left to me.
Well, there were countless occasions the road seems never ending, and all you could see is the mirage ahead. Kenneth had to jerk the steering wheel suddenly to inform me i’m getting into the opposing traffic lane because i was floating away.
It’s not easy to drive four hours straight, with the people around you trying to get some rest, making you feel all alone. All i could do to prevent myself from falling into dreamland/stoning was to constantly inject myself with the thoughts that three lives are in my hand, i want to see my family and her again. Singing out loud was am option to stay awake too.
It’s not over tonight, just give me one more chance to make it right. I may not make it through the night, i won’t go home without youuuu.

Bells Beach was the first stop on the itinerary. Kenneth mentioned about how popular this beach is and there will be serious surfing babes chilling out, making Kit all excited. However, upon arrival, all we could see is a few souls suited up and battling the mighty sea. Cais leh?

If only Singapore Beach produces such waves, if only!

That’s the Split Point Lighthouse at Otway National Park you see above.

There were many scenic outlook along the way, a place where you can pull over and snap some mouth watering photos.

It was Christmas Day, however there were still many many cars traveling along the Great Ocean Road. Above is the Lorne beach, where we manage to taste the local famous beef pies, really fantastic to munch on during a chilly day.

Every time i chance upon this photo, i can’t resist but to laugh out loud, really WTF right? Behind this photo is the art of the mastermind, which is me, i was the one who suggested this pose. Every night in my dreams, i see you, i feel you. That is how i know youuuu.
The times we spent together definitely brought some closure, however i wasn’t into that type of youknowwhat closure, uncertain about Kit though.

Welcome to Twelve Apostles at Port Campbell National Park.

Here are some of the amazing sceneries that we viewed, /spasm&peeinpants. The nature is surely the only magnificent artist i must comment , felt like we were at Kangaroo Island all over again.

Look at how mischievous Kit can be! Tongue sticked out infront of a V sign, simply suggesting something that it’s unwise to mention here.
The Twelve Apostles were mind boggling, however there was one huge negative point for it. Okay, maybe for the whole Great Ocean Road. The problem is none other than our pest friend, the Fly.
The experience with them was like super oh my gosh type. They will fly around your facial area, hang behind our back in a straight line (seems like chatting with one another to me), rest on your shoulder e certa. Even if you sweep them away, they will just zoom back to you like a clinging relationship that you cannot avoid. It gets very irritating when you try to smile in a photograph, with flies trying to get close to you, or on your face!
What was really scary was that many of the tourist don’t know about the fly infestation, and usually their backs will be swamped by nearly twenty of them, twenty!
I realised the only way to solve the problem, is to run or to constantly prepare your hands in the karate chop position to sweep them away.
Whoots, it’s New Year Eve already and i’m heading to a pot luck house party later on at Jeffery’s place. Kit and I are going to prepare our hong shao ruo signature dish to kick some ass. Meanwhile, i’ll try reflecting on my 2007 and preparing my 2008 resolutions, you people better be doing that too. By the way, tomorrow (New Year Day) will be my last entry for the Melbourne trip, feel free to check it out.

Melbourne Trip – Yarra Valley and Christmas Eve December 30, 2007
Posted by Cai in F.Y.I, Interesting, Life, Pictures, Thoughts, Travel.3 comments

This is the car we managed to rent from Europcar, the latest Subaru Impreza hatchback series, sweet looking. The traction, design, gear shifting was great, comes with cruise control and steptronic technology. If i can recall correctly, it cost $186 AUD for 3 days of usage.

The itinerary for Christmas Eve was rather simple, hit Yarra Valley for wine tasting, back to city for chill and countdown from evening.
Yarra Valley do sound familiar to Barossa Valley . Indeed they are similar in many ways, just that Barossa Valley is bigger in terms of size/magnitude. Personally, i feel that Barossa Valley’s reputation and fame is better than Yarra Valley to a certain extent.

These photos were taken on the exterior of the winery Domaine Chandon. This winery is full of beautiful attractions and the wine cellar is higher than high class i felt, however i did not purchase anything from there.

Example of a wine cellar, a place to wine taste for free. Unless you want to try their museum/wicked series, which will most probably cost you $3 – $5 AUD for tasting them.

Welcome to Yarrawood Winery, and that’s us at their lawn. If you ever ever reach there, please try then buy their Autumn Harvest Riesling 2006.

Be appalled by the amount of awards De Bortoli winery won throughout the many years. Oh, the winery is also voted the best for tourism too.

That’s Kit acting like Horatio Caine from CSI: Miami. Did i mention, we have the season one to eight at our disposal, and that’s a way how we kill time. Over exposure to the show makes you think like a criminalist all the time. When you do smell anything weird, that will be decomp (decomposition). When you do see anything suspicious, it will be bag it tag it, send it to tox/trace. When you need to search for anything, it will be set up 5 x 5 grid. It’s crazy i know.

Ah, i’m not acting like anyone from CSI: Miami. That’s just me after having too much to drink, it was like glass after glass, wine after wine, taste first and talk later (our policy).

Our destinated driver (DD) was supposed to be Kenneth, but judging on his actions and communication, i thought it’s wise for me to take over the wheels, although i was also rather high, but not as high. It wouldn’t be nice if we ended up with a vision of white on Christmas Eve, and singing too late to apologize to the DD.
Along the way, we were just hoping there won’t be any road block for breathalyser, fingers crossed. I don’t wish to get deported back to Singapore!

As promised, the night scene of Melbourne Central. Say hello to David Jones and Myer people.

This was taken outside Crown Hotel, also a casino. They have fire spitting pillars on the exterior of the hotel, expulsion of flame will be done in every hour interval. Once again, Adelaide’s Sky City casino just got owned very badly.
After walking around the casino, i realised gambling is really not a thing for me. Although card counting and probability matching should be able to lower the risk/chances, but the luck element seems to be hard to control.
Anyhow, the amount of Asians gambling is maybe ten to twenty fold of the locals. The locals were all seen at the slot machines, throwing away their gold coin, while the Asians were at the tables throwing $50 AUD a bet type (loose until siaooo). Simply suggesting, gambling is in the blood of many many Asians right. Fear is defintely mounting up when Singapore’s integrated resort opens, i dare not imagine how much income will be rolling in a night for the casino.
The group of us met up with Kenneth’s Indonesian friends again to countdown at the Steakout club/pub in the hotel. It was a really really average countdown i must say, although the company was friendly/comforting, and a feast to the eyes for Kit. For example, after the countdown, i went out of Steakout to call her. After the short call, the bouncer insisted that i cannot go back in because it’s closing, like super oh my gosh right? Close right after countdown, hahahaha maximum. Thank goodness, i swindled my way through and insisted that i have unfinished drinks.
Sorry that i did not take any photo inside, simply because our camera wasn’t up to the job. However, our Indonesian friend Melissa (which Kenneth was trying to tackle) brought along her DSLR. Will get the photos from her asap and update, no worries mates.

Before heading to Yarra Valley, the group of us insisted that buying wines is forbidden because we have a problem going through the Singapore’s custom. So much of trying to resist the temptation, we ended up buying a total of eight bottles of wines. I bought a New Vintage Pinot Chardonnay from Rochford for someone special, Kenneth bought like three for himself, and the rest were all for sharing between us. For your information, Kit now has a fetish for Moscato and Bianco.
A point to note is that Barossa Valley produces great reds, while Yarra Valley is good with their whites.
Do keep a look out for the next entry, as the group of us travel along the ever so famous Great Ocean Road on Christmas Day!
Melbourne Trip – Exploring City December 29, 2007

St Patrick Church, one of the many tourist attractions in Melbourne is very near our apartment.

Since arriving in Australia, i didn’t get a chance to go to a Church because none of my friends are Christians you see, and drifting away is nearly inevitable. Since i was in the vicinity of a Church this time round, i requested for entry to pray. No photography was allowed inside the Church, or else i would be able to show you how Vatican-ish the interior is.
Anyhow, i felt really peaceful and rejuvenated as i kneel down and prayed in the heartwarming holy ground, sigh.

Along the way, we passed by the City Museum but my mates were not very appreciative of what a museum contains therefore it was a passed.

Say hello to this ever so enthusiastic busker that posed for us over at Federation Square, cheers mate!

Melbourne have many high rise building as compared to Adelaide, by the way this is just only a gist of the whole picture.

Above us is the Eureka Tower, it’s the tallest non commercial building, purely residential. If my facts are gathered accurately, it’s around 88 stories or even higher!

Kit mentioned about how beautiful the Melbourne Aquatic Center is, hence we decided to check it out with a fee of $17 AUD each.

Sadly, it wasn’t as good as i thought, though the fish bowl attraction was pretty neat. It was like, we were in a fish bowl, and the marine life were observing us! The variety of the fishes were pretty wide however they tend to hide behind the corals, so there wasn’t much to hype about.

The next stop will be Queen Victoria Market, which is only opened on Sundays. The place is so huge and messy, that it became scary for me. Basically, it reminded me of a local Pasar Malam, just that i cannot find my favourite Taiwan sausage and Remy Burger ):
All i could hear were people shouting out their catchy phrase to pull the customers.
Have some peach at the beach! What a beautyyyy (Courtesy of Steve Irwin isn’t it?)
For your information, i prefer Adelaide’s Central Market because it’s compact and moving around is much easier.

The day ended off with us planning for the road trip to Yarra Valley for the following day. Please do not worry, i wasn’t involved in the closure session you see above.

Thunderstorms ahead for the next following days in Melbourne, but it didn’t dampen our mood.

The mode of transport will be the Firefly Coach ($55 AUD), which will take around 10 hours via the Western Highway to reach Melbourne. We finally reached Southern Cross Station the following day at around half pass six in the morning. Hiked over to the nearest McDonald for breakfast before cabbing down to our pre-booked City Edge service apartment.

This is Melbourne City Central, and by the looks of it, Adelaide’s Rundle Mall just got owned, badly. Simply look at the decorations around and their sophisticated tram system. It takes around 15 minutes for a tram to come in Adelaide, but over at Melbourne, it seems almost lightning instant.

This is the Victoria Concert Hall if i’m not wrong, pretty pretty huh?

Here we are over at the Victoria State Library which is 4365465476 times bigger than Adelaide’s one i must comment.

They have loads of statues around the city to remember historic people, just like Adelaide. Yes, and i couldn’t help but to take a photo with one of the many around, /cheese.

Explored the city for the whole day before meeting up with Kenneth’s Indonesian friends for dinner at Chinatown. Yes, Melbourne’s Chinatown owned Adelaide’s once again. Thank goodness i’m half Indonesian so i was able to socialize pretty well with my counterparts, without one more drink or two more pills.

A night scene of the Flinders Street Station.

Melbourne do have a magnificent night scene you know? Due to the fact that we only have a lousy camera, therefore taking night scenes can be rather tough with the lack of ISO controls.

Melbourne have tons more fantastic chilling place, and here’s what just one store over at Crown Hotel offer!

The group of us ended up over at Melbourne Central Mall to chill our night away.
So far so good, my impression of Melbourne is pretty good, the life, the stores, the entertainments, the sceneries e certa. However, my heart’s also pointing towards the peaceful living Adelaide. I’m confused.
Deepest apologies people for not updating these few days because the apartment is charging us 1 gigabyte of internet usage for $35 AUD. Anyhow, i will be doing a series of entries for the Victoria trip that i went for during the Christmas Period, so stay tuned.
