I attended the annual year four student’s poster presentation, actually i volunteered to help carry the poster boards up 3 stories, cheap labour! For your information, the poster itself is only 10% of the marks, while the report of it will be 40%. Anyway it will be a time when the people from the industry catch up on what the students here are capable of, and at the same time grade their posters.

Indeed i was impressed by some of posters, and it got me really interested in the efficient production of micro-algae, please note that micro-algae might be the next generation’s energy source! After getting completely lost in the wa that’s fierce (WTF) posters, the food placed at the side of room caught my eye, /yummy. Oh i see Sushi.

They have white/red wine too, free flow by the way, It’s produced by the school herself at Barossa Valley. Yes if you for your information, wine production is also part of chemical engineering, now you see how vast the chemical industry is.

That’s all for now because i am late for a meeting with Dr Bremmell, shall update soon.

There are many benefits of this research work but at the same time when i take a step back and admire the picture hung on the wall, it simply becomes a double edged sword. Sounds like a perfect example to describe myself, yes a perfectionist.

Oh hello, that’s me you see engrossed away with the experiment.

The hardest part of the experiment is to prepare the solutions, in 150 milliliter of reverse osmosis water i am supposed to have 0.001 mole/liter of sodium chloride salt and 5 parts per million of F108 frother. Anyone have a good idea on preparing it efficiently with very basic items, because the university ain’t very wealthy on certain aspects.

Another tough part is multitasking, which i have to give my hand to those who can chat/watch television/surf the internet/pack their bag/eat/do their homework all at once. Though my focus is just on the experiment itself, but within an interval of 20 seconds, i am supposed to take note of the time, froth height, the froth stability, the bubble size, froth collapse time and etc. Someone please enlighten me how i can do this efficiently with the help of one pair of eyes and hands, hello i’m not an alien.

Time to log off already, there’s a birthday party to attend in the seminar room, yay cake attack (:
